Trouble in Hong Kong…

an outsider's perspective of hong kong

christmas lights in the city

with 2 comments

when i think of christmas in new york, i think about the tree at rockafeller center. it’s like an urban christmas dream. the thought of celebrating christmas in a large large city. this is one of the reasons why i love living in hk especially during this time of the year – when all the christmas lights are up and seeing the infinite number of gift sets.

i think i am a bit weird – i covet the process of unwrapping gifts more so than enjoying the gift in itself. once the ribbon is off, so does my interest. i think it has a lot to do with my natural curiosity towards life. i just HAVE to know.

we went around town looking for the best christmas decoration in hong kong. initially i thought, either pacific place or ifc would take the cake but this year heritage 1881 surpassed all of my expectations. they have the best christmas decoration of the year. i love carousels – it’s like an object of my childhood desire. i could stand there forever and forever watching the horses go by – picking the best looking horse.

hope you get to see it yourself! merry christmas and have a good 2011
