teddy bear cookies…..
three days ago i picked up three boxes of cookies from jenny’s bakery in central. they are gifts for my family and friends back in kl – two people asked me, ” how is it possible that you manage to buy three boxes?’.
i was puzzled with the question.
apparently it is so difficult to get jenny’s cookies that people go early in the morning just to get a box and by lunch time – they are usually sold out.
jenny’s cookies is one of hong kong’s best kept secrets amongst OLs ( office ladies ) in central. whenever i am in a generous mood, i’d usually buy a box for my ex colleagues. you could literally hear squeals of delight. maybe the teddy bear packaging helps as well.
personally, i don’t keep any stock at home because they are highly dangerous. made from the finest australian butter, jenny’s cookies is the root cause for committing calorie sin. once you start popping, you can’t stop.
my friend’s mum was visiting hong kong two weeks ago and being the hospitable malaysian that i am – i went to get her a box before she went back. it didn’t lead to much good. she said she would be eating this all the way home on the plane and she had instructed joe my friend to buy this whenever he goes back – she said – don’t buy me anything else. sorry joe!!!
whenever you visit hong kong – make sure this is one of the things you bring back home – jenny’s bakery.
